Elev8 Sports Missions Projects
10:12 SPORTS
2 Samuel 10:12: "Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in His sight." Through Christ and Community, 10:12 Sports uses athletics to provide mentoring and job training opportunities for youth in the city of Baltimore. 10:12 Sports believes that a relational investment in youth has a pivotal role in community flourishing, and seeks to create a model of excellence for West Baltimore youth. ELEV8 has partnered with Jeff Thompson, founder of 10:12 Sports, providing support to 10:12 staff and interns at their summer camp program.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) was founded in 1954, with a desire to make disciples through a strategy of engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same. In Howard County, FCA partners with 22 middle schools, 12 high schools, and 1 college, to further the work of the organization. ELEV8 has partnered with Jason Scott to host the basketball portion of Power Camp, a co-ed camp offering athletic instruction and fellowship in several sports.
JAPAN MISSION PROJECT
During the summer of 2018 Columbia Presbyterian Church partnered with Communidade Horizonte (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) to send a team to Tokyo, Japan. This team worked with Grace Harbor Church- Toyosu to host an ELEV8 Basketball Camp in the heart of Tokyo. Grace Harbor Church is a church planting partner of Columbia Presbyterian Church. It is our hope that through this partnership that ELEV8 can be part of reaching one of the most unreached nations in the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. ELEV8 is a ministry of Columbia Presbyterian Church and will be seeking to send another team in the future.
