Welcome!
Thank you for you interest in becoming part of Elev8 Sports! Our program started over 20 years ago with just a few teams for younger aged players and has grown to cover preschool - 12th grades. We have over 500 players and 100 volunteers every season that are dedicated to making Elev8 a great experience for all participants.
We hope that your family will join us this season!

Vision
We seek to provide a solid basketball experience built on the foundation of our three core values. Those areas are Character, Honor, and Hope in Christ. Character and Honor can at times be difficult to find in today's sports. We seek to encourage participants in these areas by providing an encouraging environment that is laid on the foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
How does it work?
Players are grouped by Levels/divisions, as follows:
Minis - ages 4-5
Level 1 - grades 1-2
Level 2 - grades 3-4
Level 3 - grades 5-6
Level 4 - grades 7-8
Level 5 - grades 9-12 (high school)
We use a player's birthdate to determine placed, in line with the method used by Howard County Public Schools. That way children of similar age are playing together.
Our program for grades 1-12 runs from November through March. Each team practices once per week for an hour and plays one game per week, starting in January. Each team plays 8 total games. High school games are played on Friday evenings, all other levels play on Saturdays.
Minis sessions start in January, and run for the 8 weeks of the season. They meet on Saturday mornings at Crossroads Church for an hour of practice and game play.
The high school leagues (level 5) also play a week-long, double elimination tournament immediately following the regular season. Each player gets equal play time on the court, regardless of skill level.

What about this church stuff?
Elev8 Sports is a partnership ministry of Columbia Presbyterian Church and Crossroads Nazarene Church. While Elev8 is a ministry of the church, we do not require any church membership or affiliation in order to participate. Elev8 is open to people of all faiths and spiritual backgrounds. We do require each Head Coach to have a solid relationship with Jesus Christ and to be faithfully seeking to grow in this relationship. Each team will have a 5-10 minute devotion at every practice.
What about Head Coaches?
The Head Coach is the key to our program! We seek out men and women that have solid character and a foundation built on a solid relationship with Jesus Christ. All of our Head Coaches have been screened by the Leadership Team and are required to complete annual background checks. If you are interested in coaching, email Julie, ELEV8 Admin, for more information: elev8@columbiapres.org.
